Our Service Area

The needs of the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) are diverse. TVCOF service area includes Hidalgo, Cameron, Willacy and Starr counties, which is home to over 1 million people, 89% of whom are Hispanic. Thirty-eight percent (38%) of the RGV residents live in poverty. Since 1990, RGV population has grown 40%, yet employment opportunities have not matched that growth.

Our communities have urgent needs in the areas of youth, education, health and housing sectors. TVCOF believes that as we encourage and mobilize the empowerment of our community, we will be able to strengthen our ability to answer those needs and make a greater impact in the Rio Grande Valley communities.
